It’s a new year! Yay! For many, it’s also that start of changing eating habits or dieting. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas….those treats start to add up. So what’s a person to do when they are on a diet but you’re having the most intense, if -you- don’t- get- something-chocolate- heads- will roll kind of craving? You decide to try out a skinny hot chocolate recipe.
First up from Amy’s Healthy Baking. She uses the creaminess of cashew milk to round out this delicious recipe.
Like many food blogs, her recipe is at the bottom. What do you think of her 35 Calorie Hot Chocolate?
–> 2 cups unsweetened cashew milk (ya know, less calories)
–> 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
–> 12 drops of vanilla creme stevia
–> 3 drops of peppermint extract (which you can completely ignore).
If you’re like us, you’d have to order liquid stevia so we thought why not include one that uses common household ingredients and is low calorie but not gross tasting.
Hungry Girl to the rescue. If you’re a Weight Watchers fan, then you are probably already familiar with Hungry Girl. She finds low-cal alternatives to popular dishes and drinks. Give her version of Mexican Hot Chocolate a try!
And finally, we come to a healthier hot chocolate from the blog of Chocolate Covered Katie. This lady makes her living by finding healthier ways to still enjoy dessert everyday.
Look at this! It doesn’t look healthy at all. And it’s super simple to make.
Of course you can always buy a package low-cal hot chocolate mix, but those really never quite taste the same.
